What is one way to show support for another women’s rights supporter? Make a Pussyhat for that person! The gift of a Pussyhat is a kind and powerful gesture of solidarity. And it is possibly the easiest first project for a crafter!

HOW TO MAKE A PUSSYHAT FOR THOSE WHO DON’T THINK THEY ARE CRAFTY

Step 1. Make an 11X17 rectangle- it can be knit, crochet, sewn, a piece of fabric
Step 2. Fold in half
Step 3. Stitch, connect, glue, the two sides from the crease.
Step 4. Put it on your head and the cat ears peek out! Voila! You have made a Pussyhat!

HOW TO CRAFT PUSSYHATS and POLITICS

While you are making your Pussyhat, consider discussing politics with your crafting friend old and new. Incredible things can happen when we get together to craft. The knitting circle is an incredible model of how we can be having serious conversations about politics. For me, I love that I have the opportunity to really listen and absorb what others are saying and the chance to think through questions and ideas that I have to share. The process of making while talking gives us all a moment to digest ideas and have fruitful discussions (and hatch awesome projects like Pussyhat Project!).
