Pussyhat Project began as a collective act of care, visibility, and belonging. That spirit continues.

Today, much of that energy lives on through Welcome Blanket, a participatory art project to welcome refugees and other immigrants through handmade blankets and personal stories. It is another way of practicing solidarity, neighborliness, and shared civic values, together.

In this outrageous situation of shortages of medical grade PPE, we put together a way for people who can sew to help make handmade masks for people who need them. We wished and hoped this kind of intervention would not be needed, but it clearly is. Our skills and creativity are needed. Wishing everyone health, patience, resilience and love.
